repress !! blackest ever black is a new london-based label that seeks to re-establish electronic music as a poetic, provocative and emotionally inquisitive force. music by artists, not engineers. its first release is a self-titled ep by raime, a british duo who draw explicit inspiration from the marginal mavericks of early european goth, industrial and synth wave - artists largely omitted from the current master narrative of post-punk history, and who strove to make music at once cerebral and visceral, futuristic and atavistic. well-versed in the language of club music, but rejecting its typically rigid sequencing and arrangements, raime use technology pensively - to convey a sense of crisis, collapse and longing. transporting and disorienting though their work might be, its narratively taut and has no truck whatsoever with the cosmic, its too aggressive and engaged to be called psychedelic.

big with mihalis safras, piemont, afrilounge, phonique, someone else, anthony collins, stephan bodzin!! slim, sporty and very casual- thats the way in which current number 18 on acker records sneaks into listeners ears and hereby wonderfully illustrates the much longed for beginning of the open air season in europe. other than the name justin side implies, its even two dudes from denmark who conjure up this unusual voodoo. bedded on a gently shaking groove and larded with tropical warm percussion and lots of vocals, the magic takes effect immediately but still unobtrusively. beside the original mix, the groove of the a-side includes a minimal club mix by mister mollono.bass that creates rather nightly associations in its straightforward manner. on the flipside he pulls out some other stops of his sound repertoire and calls the sunbathed result very appropriately his summer mix. last but not least the unmistakable, humorous organ sounds of rundfunk3000 represent the unique, local mecklenburg version of a mighty voodoo magic.

back again we have the mediterranean flavor of the friends affkt and alberto sola. always experimenting with different ingredients like the cooker ferran adria, the guys who laid the first stone of the legendary label barraca, now present a hybrid of pop and house which will leave no one indifferent. ‘pobla loves you’ was born with the tuba of alberto cuartero, orchestra director of hoya gonzalo in albacete. marc and alberto (affkt and sola) wanted to have a typical instrument of a band and merged it with the electronic dance scene, always being faithful to his maxim of making music to dance as well as to listen. if we surround valencia, road to pobla de farnals, we passed through la canada. there are los updates, who upon hearing the organic rhythm of pobla and the work with the wind instruments, set to work with the voices. perfectly adapted to the capital of the turia river, jorge and loreto propose a valencian poem that their children have learned at school. the moon of valencia then join our dinner for four. finally, we add to our paella a bit of percussion and keyboards made in affkt, to get a main course and obtain a typical valencian plate but by adding a little chilean salt becomes international. more oriented to the dance floor, there are three rather different remixes. new union between spain and chile, with danny fiddo and felipe venegas. this couple present an elegant and deep remix with drums and vocals perfectly adapted to the current sound. moreover, the french man darlyn vlys re-interpreted >pobla loves you< with a lot of groove and percussion added. finally, affkt gives his funker version of events to complete a job that will come out by the german label international freakshow

groove charts # 3 !!! >sex ×technology = the future< ( jg ballard) wires are the arteries of the modern world, connecting and supplying practically everything that defines our lives. we channel our desires like an electrical current through our machines. musically, the concept is about drawing together the different strands, from techno and minimal to house to ambient and experimental. there is a common thread that runs through these different genres, linking them like the roots of a tree. this diversity is what keeps everything fresh for me. the >raudive< project explores techno and minimal, further releases will feature >atlas<, a new project created by myself and co-producer tommy gillard which moves into more detroit house territory. later there will be music from >zov zov< music that references pan sonic, coil and sunno))).
